Chicagoland Is Where Talent Meets Opportunity

★ Website Design ★ Brand Design ★ Brochure Layout
Overview

When workforce development meets the City of Big Shoulders, opportunity grows skyscraper-tall! I tackled Good Jobs Chicagoland’s brand identity first, giving workforce development some much-needed personality that could stand out in Chicago’s bustling marketplace. The design challenge was serving two distinct audiences simultaneously—creating visuals that feel board-room credible yet neighborhood approachable, like a power suit that pairs perfectly with deep-dish pizza. Starting with the logo, I transformed Cook County’s iconic map shape into a gateway of opportunity, then built a color system where professional blues meet energetic reds. Once the visual foundation was solid, I designed a website architecture that turns complex career pathways into intuitive journeys, helping Chicagoans navigate to better futures with the confidence of a local giving directions.

Personality

Like deep dish pizza—substantial, layered, and uniquely Chicagoan. The bold blue and vibrant red color palette creates instant recognition while nodding to Chicago’s iconic flag and civic identity. I incorporated Cook County’s silhouette directly into the logo, transforming it from mere geography into a gateway of opportunity. Typography stands strong and accessible, communicating authority to employer partners while remaining welcoming to job seekers from all backgrounds. The result is a workforce development brand that doesn’t feel like government paperwork but instead invites everyone to participate in Chicago’s economic renaissance, whether you’re hiring talent or building your career path.
